What is Software Testing?
Software testing can be defined as any activity which evaluates the attributes or capabilities of a program or system and which determines that it meets its required results.
Software Testing is therefore crucial to software quality and is widely deployed by programmers and testers – it is a highly sought after skill.
Software Testing can vary greatly between projects and take many different forms, utilising a range of models – however its overall aim is always to ensure that software being tested meets organisational and stakeholder requirements. Test designs are usually formulated early in the development and evaluation of software and are applied at each stage of the process.
ISEB and ISTQB provide a range of flexible Software Testing certifications, which can be applied across all industries and different types of software application.
Why is Software Testing Important?
Simply put – without Software Testing, software development projects deliver software that is incomplete, does not meet client requirements, that is not delivered on time or to budget, or which is so buggy as to be unusable.
